Hypnosis is a fascinating subject
First of all can I begin by explaining to you very simply, the difference between the Conscious mind and the Unconscious mind?
Conscious Mind: – Is responsible for logic and reasoning.
For example if I ask you to add up a sum i.e. 25+4=29 it will be your conscious mind that gives you the answer.
When you decide to move a part of your body for example your arms, legs or hands etc it is your conscious mind that will move it.
Whenever you are aware of the thing you are doing or want to do it is done by your conscious mind.
Your conscious mind is only aware of now.
The Conscious mind uses intellect to come up with logical solutions to problems.
The Unconscious mind, which can also be known or referred to as (subconscious mind, higher self etc):-whatever way you have heard it referred to,it really doesn’t matter. It is down to personal preference which terminology you use.
Unconscious mind is responsible for all your involuntary actions, such as your heart beat, breathing, blood circulation etc
Unconscious mind is unlimited in time and space, it holds all your memories and future constructs.
You also store your beliefs and memories here.
This is how through Hypnosis you can change your beliefs and unwanted emotions and access your memories.
Unconscious mind can access internal resources from memories of experiences, linking them all together creating a more resourceful state.
The conscious mind is deliberate.
The Unconscious mind is automatic
You do not need to think about your heart beating or, your circulation or any of your bodily functions,as your unconscious mind is taking care of this for you,its soul purpose is to sustain your life and give you what you need.
Hypnosis is a wonderful tool in a therapists tool kit for helping clients
Hypnotism is clearly a doorway to a powerful altered state of Consciousness.
The word’ hypnotism’ comes from the Greek term Hypnos meaning Sleep.
This has created some confusion as to what Hypnosis actually is, as when you attach electrodes to the skull and you use a Electro-encephalograph (EEG) you can actually measure electrical activity and it has been discovered that whilst in a Hypnotic state of Trance the electrical activity in the brain is invariably the same as someone who is fully conscious (wide awake) thus eliminating the theory that Hypnosis is a form of sleep.
It is a deep state of relaxation in which all of your senses are heightened (more sensitive)
We use Hypnosis
To achieve a deep state of relaxation, where upon we can guide you to, reveal lots of resources within you, that you didn’t realise you had that enhance your development and allow you to discover more about yourself and the world around you.
Hypnosis has to be the way forward in the pursuit of well being, putting you in control of any given situation instead of the situation being in control of you.
